We know, we know. When you think Quizlet, you think electronic flash cards, right? Well, good news. Quizlet actually does so much more than that, and can even be used as a teaching tool! Hate making study guides that kids don't even use? Frustrated by students struggling with vocab? THE ANSWER IS QUIZLET! Here, we'll be showing you what exactly quizlet can do, and why you should use it for EVERYTHING. Because you should. It's that amazing.

Alright, so in order to reap the wonderful benefits of the quizlet magic, you'll first need to make a study set. Now, you may be thinking, "I don't have any vocabulary quizzes! I can't use this!" Au contraire mon frère, you just need to think a little outside the box. Get those creative juices flowing! Take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy! (and yes, quoting Ms. Frizzle is always appropriate in case you were wondering)

Making a study set

Quizlet's language function lets you easily type special characters for effective studying

You can directly transfer a study guide by writing questions in the "definitions" box and answers in the "terms" box

If you don't feel like making an entire set yourself, search for one to see if someone has already made it!

Add images (you'll need quizlet premium to upload your own) to make your study guide more visual

Put page or chapter numbers so studious students can find problem areas and re-read them

Protect your work - Choose who can view and edit your set

Save your fingers - see what other quizleteers put for definitions

Quizlet for Studying

Of course, quizlet has the regular old flash cards that everyone knows and loves, but there are more practical modes to use if you want students to learn -and remember- on their own.

Write Mode - Memorization Through Writing

Learn Mode - Intuitive Studying

Flash Cards - A Classic Streamlined

Gravity Mode - Become a Vocab Space Cadet!

This one is my personal favorite. I owe it my mastery of AP Human Geo and AP Government. When exams are nearing, there's no better way to become acquainted with the concepts and vocabulary you have to study than to have it hurled at you at lightning fast speeds! The best part is that it not only feels more like a video game than a studying tactic, but it also improves keyboarding skills! Have students sign into their quizlet accounts and give out rewards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to add an element of competition and encourage kids to study!

Match Mode - Click And Drag Your Way To Success

If students create quizlet accounts, you, as well as the other kids, will be able to view high scores. Competitive studying is way more fun than regular studying. Just saying.

Test Mode - Quiz Yourself... Or Your Students

Quizlet's test function is not only helpful tool for a student wishing to quiz themselves on the topics they've learned, it is also a quick and easy way to generate paper quizzes! Simply select the options you want, create new tests until you find one you like (or only allow for certain terms by starring them!), and select the option to print your test!

Sort your quizlet by what you miss most commonly, so that you know what to study!
